The Immovable Tree

By Mekhala Mira

I am an anchored tree,
with gorgeous, shiny, dark green leaves.
I grow into the ground so deep,
No one could ever move me.

Some approach my tree,
And try to rip off my leaves.
They jump,
they make fun,
but they never reach.

They’ll only get my leaves,
When I choose to set them free.

The ones that I don’t need,
Like baby teeth,
I let them fall to the ground
Laugh when they pounce,
Because better ones are blossoming.
